You must admit, there's some sort of ambiguity about a band that's been around for 10 years being named the most underrated band. It takes perseverance, talent and a large amount of stubbornness. So congratulations and a couple slices of bread go out to STACKED HAM, Kings of the Toledo club underground. The five members (drums, bass, keyboards, guitar and "your standard-issue idiot") have been covering the local scene with their own brand of danceable, hummable and laughable tunage for over a decade. Jim Roman (the aforementioned "idiot") was slammed by the honor. "When did the crack epidemic hit and when did I miss it?" was his surprised response. Roman explains that the band not only does cover tunes, but what he terms "stupid s#*t,"--- blue material, if you will, a little reminiscent of the old Hotlix band, but not as rank--- "so we can still play the Rib-Off."
