Dave Fogle
Dave Fogle has been a professional musician since 1973. Born in Texas and moving to Toledo, Ohio at the age of ten he quickly discovered “The Motown Sound” which changed his musical life forever. After a brief encounter with piano and trumpet lessons he picked up a pair of drum sticks at the age of sixteen.
A couple of bands later he found himself on the road with a southern rock band from Buffalo, New York called Ian Quail. While traveling a lot, this group gave him the a chance to open up for and or play with such notables as, Spyro Gyra, 38 Special, Three Dog Night to name a few. This was also a good opportunity to get some studio time doing a few jingles and commercials in upstate New York.
Next came the JAX band. This was more personal. Still a lot of travel but a very creative group. The song list included about thirty originals along with a lot of Steely Dan, Toto, Gino Vinelli. More opening act opportunities with Edgar Winter, The Tubes, Donnie Iris, along with the first MTV concert in Toledo. By the age of thirty, he had already spent a dozen years on the road, mainly around the Midwest.
About this time David purchased a drum shop in Toledo (Dave’s Drum Depot) while continuing to play in the Glass City Allstars and working as the house drummer for Zeta Recording Studio.
More recently, David was one of the charter members of The Mighty Meaty Swing Kings, a ten piece horn band. This was all about the show and of course, very high energy modern swing. This group was on the bill with Blood Sweat & Tears, Eric Burton, Paul Revere, Bryan Setzer and many more.
David was very excited when he ran into Rick Hall at a local blues competition. They had played for a few years together in the JAX band and decided that they had to do another project together. The combination of years of experience and talent in every possible stylistic venue and the musical mix that naturally occurs, this is exactly where David wants to be. This is only the beginning!
